Our first speaker for awaken and setting the foundation for something great to just blow up in our class. He's speaking about the first and greatest commandment that Gods demands of us. Very very important to grasp. In Deuteronomy 6:5 Gods says " Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength." That's the foundation and should be priority. Nothing, i mean nothing should be in front of this command. Aaron gave me a new perspective on God and how he views love. I'll go ahead and just share with y'all just the outline.
1.) first, you need a new outlook on Gods love for you! Ask him to reveal how much he really loves you.
2.) from that love for you, you are able to fully love God. When you finally get that understanding of how much God REALLY loves you, you can't help
But give your whole heart.
3.) ability to love yourself through Christ. Can't love yourself if you get you identity out of something other than Gods love for you. Wow! That's good.
4.) and through that love for yourself you are able to love your neighbor. Love the people around you the same.. You can't love people without loving your image in Christ.

Hi Nate:
ReplyDeleteI liked this post on Aaron Walsh. Reminds me of a conversation I was having with my son around this and telling him that to the extent that this scripture is true - loving the Lord with all our heart, mind, strength, and soul - to this extent, the enemy will try to attack us on these fronts - breaking our heart, breaking our spirit, and then our resolve, and then our soul.
I guess the parallel scripture to this is: ''Be sober, be vigilant, for the devil, like a roaring lion, goes to and fro the earth seeking whom he can devour.''
Keep up the great progress.
