The Start of My Journey

Wow! My first blog ever. I know, I said I would never have one but I got to admit it does sound pretty cool… “Hey you guys should go read my blog!” that just sounds smart! First off, I want to start by saying how blessed I am to have an amazing family along side of me the whole way. A family who loves each other, loves other people, and most importantly loves God. My parents have been pastors/working in churches my whole life, setting the perfect foundation for my walk with God. But I am a pretty stubborn person and it wasn’t till a couple of years after I left for college that Jesus really became real to me. Not my family’s Jesus, not my churches Jesus, but MINE! He’s my Jesus that loves me unconditionally. He is my constant companion that cares about every aspect of my life. When I finally got that through my thick head, I have been chasing after him in EVERYTHING I do, eager to learn and grow closer to my Jesus, my savior.

I’m so excited for the next phase in my life. My journey with YWAM (youth with a mission) is going to be and eye opening, life changing experience. It begins July 5th(tomorrow)-in Kona, Hawaii and start with a 3 month Disciple Training School (DTS). During DTS we learn and discover our callings and gifts that God specifically gave to each and every one of us. It is a mix of weekly classroom teaching, one-on-one discipleship, and serving the Kona area with local outreaches. After DTS is a 3-month outreach phase where we will be taking the gospel and all we have learned somewhere in the world to the poor and hopeless, the stagnant and compromised and the broken and hurting. I am eager to partner with God in serving the world and making a difference in peoples lives!

My lord is so faithful to me and continues to take care of everything. It’s amazing to feel that freedom when I give it all to Jesus. Just complete happiness and peacefulness takes over knowing that my God, the maker of the universe, cares and loves me so deeply is all I need in life. I want to thank my friends and family for supporting me in prayer and financially too. It means so much to me, you don’t even understand, that y’all believe and invested in my life. Got confirmation last week that my 6-month journey with YWAM has been completely covered. Just that extra confirmation that this is exactly the next steps that God has placed for me. It has been a crazy and exciting journey already of just trusting and obeying. I can’t wait to tell you guys the amazing things on my YWAM journey. I’ll try and keep y’all posted as much as I can on here. (Facebook me and follow me on twitter @nathansreyes) Love you guys. Y’all are AWESOME.
